Sevens Project is an ongoing collaborative audio-visual project curated by Moondata Records , based on improvised sketches expanded into experimental & contemporary song forms, incorporating electronic manipulation and acoustic treatments, and finally enhanced by a visual live performance. The core musical unit was formed out of a one-time only performance that took place at the 2003 edition of the FCMM (Festival of New Media and Film) where the objective was to musically interpret visual projections and representations of the Seven Deadly Sins. Since their debut, the band has evolved, incorporating seven musicians and a filmmaker.

Each of the contributing members/writers of the project is a musical leader in the Montreal music community. They all have experience composing or performing for film, dance, theatre, sound design and experimental music. The group has collaborated periodically for the past couple of years, approaching each performance as a 'work in progress'. This past year the ensemble began work on a recording of composed material. The role of composing has been split up amongst all the members, with the results being a mixture of studio improvisation, sound design and editing, and written compositions.
